KENNETH B. MEIKLEJOHN, a school Principal, was also a charter member of the Calgary Centre and was their first Treasurer. He succeeded Sam Litchinsky as President in 1962 at which time Mrs. Meiklejohn (Bessy) was Secretary. He served on the Centre Council for a number of years and was Chairman of the organizing Committee for the 1968 General Assembly. The citation which was read in 1971 when he was presented with the Service Award recalled that "for years he enlivened each meeting of the Centre with an educational feature, known as 'Ken's Constellations', on some interesting astronomical topic, and he also served the school community as a judge of astronomical exhibits at Science Fairs."
