The Society is a Not-for-Profit Corporation registered under the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (CNCA). The constitutional framework of the Society is as follows:

- By-Law #1 (Our Society's Operating Rules and Legal Framework)
- RASC Policy Manual (Our implemented, rules, procedures and guidelines, see www.rasc.ca/policy/manual)
When interpreting the Constitution the RASC Policy Manual is interpreted in accordance with our By-Law #1. By-Law #1 is interpreted in accordance with the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act. Every effort has been made to ensure that these documents are consistent with one another.
The Society's Constitution Committee is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Society's Constitution documents. The Board of Directors may make changes as needed to the RASC Policy Manual from time to time. Changes to the Society's By-Law #1 require the approval of the membership.
