No proposals have been received for the 2008 General Assembly. The Annual Meeting is required by the Bylaws, but the paper sessions, tours, and social events which have become a part of the "GA Experience" are hosted by a local Centre. Unless a Centre steps forward to host the 2008 GA, the event may be cancelled.

Any Centre with the interest in hosting this event should contact Scott Young at sdy @ mts.net as soon as possible.

The national council subsequently approved a proposal to change the default delivery mode of the Journal to members, from print to electronic. This initiative was undertaken to help correct the Society’s operating deficit.

Through a collaboration between Randy Attwood, Peter Jedicke, and James Edgar, National Council Minutes from the early years of the Society are now on-line.

In the past few days, Minutes from 1910 to 1934 were placed in the National Web Site to join part of the on-going project where historical archives are being scanned, put through an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) process, proofread, and then saved in both html and PDF format for easy access by all.
