Seven Earth-sized rocky exoplanets are orbiting a small red star 39 light-years from our solar system, including several in the habitable zone - providing the possibility of liquid water on their surface.
Olivia Lim’s PhD research at Universite de Montreal focuses on the orbital geometry of the system. Olivia will be using the JWST to detect and possibly characterize the atmospheres of the TRAPPIST-1 planets.
