    1. the original telescopes and separate O.G. attributed to Galileo 1609-1610, were set into a monstrance-like display stand by Vittorio Crosten (fl. 1663-1704) in 1677 for the Medici;
    2. the maker of this artifact stated that these reproductions were intentionally optically poor (i.e., they do not reproduce the performance of the originals, and therefore that this reproduction is solely for display, rather than field use);
