The RASC General Liability insurance covers events described as “normal RASC activities.” This covers members at events sponsored by a Centre or the Society, including publically advertised events. Centres holding events in public parks, malls, etc. who are required to provide proof of insurance coverage (Certificate of Insurance) must file a Certificate of Insurance Request at least two weeks prior to the event.
Once the request is received, the Broker or the Insurance Company may contact you (the person requesting the insurance for the event) to clarify any questions or details. Once approved, the Broker will send a copy of the Certificate issued to BOTH the Centre and the Event Contact you have provided along with a copy to National office. A Sample Certificate of Insurance is available here.
Please note that this is an application only. It does not constitute an insurance policy. Insurance shall become effective only on the issuance of a policy or written binder specifically authorized by the Company or Agency.
