RASC Montreal Centre: Two Weeks on "Mars"

Event Date:
Saturday, September 18, 2021 - 19:30 to 21:30 EDT

Two Weeks on "Mars" - Learning the art of isolation during a "Mars" mission

Presented by Dr. Elizabeth Howell

RASC Montreal Centre

The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) Montreal Centre invites you to the 2021 Townsend Lecture, our annual Keynote Public Presentation. This year we are pleased to host Canadian Space Journalist Elizabeth Howell, PhD on Sat, Sept 18th at 7:30pm EDT. Dr. Howell spent two weeks at the Mars Society's Mars Desert Research Station to learn more about Red Planet living. As she discovered, the experience of isolation on a simulated space mission teaches a lot about teamwork, tenacity and technology transfer. Learn more about her experience during this exciting event, followed by a moderated Q&A. Reply to this email if you wish to submit questions in advance, or post them on Zoom during the presentation.

REGISTER IN ADVANCE FOR THE WEBINAR HERE!

We hope you'll share this invitation with other Astronomy enthusiasts!

Speaker's Night: The Colour Out of Space and Other Tales of Cosmic Horror (ONLINE)

Dr. Leo Yvonne Alcorn is a postdoctoral researcher in astronomy at York University and The Dunlap Institute, and received her PhD from Texas A&M University in 2019.
