Mars on 1960 October 27/28 at 02:30 EDT (06:30 UT) as sketched by Constantine Papacosmos. C.M. 219°. 6" refractor at 300x. Seeing 4. Transparency 4. The markings were very indefinite in shape, and only a small fraction of them was seen at any one moment of good seeing. The northern polar cap was very prominent, whereas the southern one was seen with difficulty. The equatorial region near the terminator seemed whitish. T = 7°.
