In recognition of his exceptional academic career and contributions to the larger scientific community, Dr. Roy Bishop, former RASC National President and Observer’s Handbook editor emeritus, was inducted into the Nova Scotia Science Hall of Fame at a gala ceremony on 2012 November 15 held at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel.
 
Dr. Bishop is professor emeritus and Honorary Research Associate of Physics at Acadia University, whose physics career is "driven by his desire to study and teach the fundamentals of the natural world around us."
