Construction of the David Thompson Observatory at Fort William Historical Park here in Thunder Bay has begun. When complete the 15' Automated ProDome will house a 20" Planewave CDK, on a Planewave Ascention HR mount. The secondary scope is a 5" TMB Refractor. The facility is 100% owned by the Ontario Government.

The Thunder Bay Centre has been (and will be) responsible for operation, and programming, in exchange for centre time on the scope during the "down" days. We have been involved in the planning process 100%. For a day to day update of the progress, visit our centre website. I am posting a few new pictures every day. Visit https://tbrasc.org/observatory/ for details and updates.
