The National Light Pollution Abatement Committee (LPAC) is planning to increase its public visibility through new local and national outreach programs. LPA will be a major theme of the International Year of Astronomy in 2009.
The Light Pollution Abatement Committee (LPAC) is developing an extensive plan that will raise public awareness of the problem of light pollution during 2009. In order to implement this plan we will need volunteers and contributors of all kinds. The LPAC has attracted a large number of members to further develop these plans, however, more help is needed to develop and produce the materials that will be distributed to Centres and the public.
If you or your Centre has ideas about helping to reduce light pollution and promote the benefits of responsible lighting practices that you would like to pursue with the help of the LPAC, please contact Robert Dick, the LPAC Chair via the Committee's Web page.
