Registrations have been coming in briskly with now over 86 attendees registered. We are very pleased with the many early registrations and look forward to many more. Below are some notes of interest to those who yet have to register but are planning on coming.
Those wishing to take part in the St Andrews Sailing/Whale Watching and Kingsbrae Garden tour should register soon to confirm their place. As of May 6th thirty three (33) of the forty three (43) available spots have been taken. Due to the size of the ship there is only room for 10 more people!
Due to early demand for the Bay of Fundy Tides Tour we have added a second bus. The tour already has fifty three (53) people signed up. With the second bus we can now accommodate a total of 90 people on this grand scenic tour, with a costal drive along the Bay of Fundy and a chance to walk on the ocean floor at low tide.
We will be ordering promotional items in the near future. If you wish to order one or more of the Polo Shirts, Zip up Fleeces or Lapel Pins we suggest you register and place your order before May 12th to guarantee you get your items. There will be a limited of extras and sizes on site.
Information has been posted on the website about the astrophoto and sketching contest. Please consider bringing your photos and sketches, as there will be categories for both beginners and advance imagers.
The call for papers has been issued and the online form can be found on the RASC website in the 2010GA section. The theme this year is a blend of Maritime and Astronomy, come Sail with the RASC aboard Urania. Urania is our ship, one of many ships the RASC sails; others being friendship, Mentorship, Leadership, Stewardship, Craftsmanship and Fellowship. A special paper session followed by a panel discussion with an open floor, will take place on Sunday. Discussion will centre around this theme and ideas to foster the growth and future of the RASC. We hope that throughout the 4 day event this will be an ongoing topic of discussion.
We look forward to seeing you in Fredericton, New Brunswick and showing you a good maritime party. For more information see our 2010 GA website at www.rasc.ca/ga2010/ . If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Organizing Committee or Chair at snpgray at nb.sympatico.ca
