Asteroid (9281) Weryk

Robert J. Weryk (b. 1981) is a researcher at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, who has performed fundamental work on radar and optical measurements of meteors. In particular, his techniques for automatic real-time video detection of meteors are widely used. Weryk earned a PhD from Western University and spent a few years on the staff of the Pan-STARRS project in Hawaii, where he was the first observer to recognize interstellar object 1I 'Oumuamua in the discovery data on 2017-10-19.
