Special Projects

In addition to our specific programs there are also a number of observing opportunities for short-term and transient events. This page is reserved for such astronomical phenomena as:

  • Solar and lunar eclipses visible from Canada
  • Meteor showers and storms expected
  • Major asteroid occultations
  • Transits of Venus and Mercury
  • Bright comets

In this section the RASC Observing Committee will highlight upcoming events and document tips and techniques to help you observe these events and potentially make valuable scientific observations.
