Jean Asselin

(1905-) An active member of the Centre français de Montréal.



JEAN ASSELIN (1905-) held various offices in the Centre français de Montréal between 1949 and 1967. He was President in 1949-50 and again in 1956. By profession he was an engineer. In astronomy, his interest and talks to the Centre were mainly about solar system objects. When he received the Service Award in 1962, he was praised for his effective promotion of astronomy through radio, TV and published articles. The generosity and hospitality of Monsieur and Madame Asselin was important in furthering the interests of the Centre.
