Comet Ikeya-Seki, 1965f, as seen in 7x50 binoculars. Field 7d.
Position: a: 12h35'; d –5°0' approx.
(Could not hazard a guess at magnitude because of uneven haze.)

Tail - Approx. 20° in length.
Head not seen clearly—much haze near horizon. Tail visible 10 or 15 minutes before head appeared in morning twilight. Tail looked like a faint searchlight beam.
