Update on Astronomy Day:
Kitchener-Waterloo
The Kitchener-Waterloo Centre held a Star Party in Waterloo Park on May 2nd, consisting of about 30 telescopes set up by Centre members; it as attended by approximetely 200 people. The weather cooperated abd everyone had fun observing the Moon, Saturn, various double stars and clusters. The Moon was bright enough to wash out fainter objects; and the public attendance was appreciative of the efforts.
Niagara Centre
Will be setup at the mall during the day with a display board setup indoors, and telescopes in the parking lot for Solar viewing. Later in the evening, the telescopes will be set up in the park for public stargazing. Publicity will be sent out to the radio stations, local cable tv, and newspapers in the region.
